The book "Toucher l'espace, poétique de l'Art Planétaire" is just published (in French).

The first part of this book describes the arworks using the Planet as an art medium. It describes the emergence of this art form which has developped in the past century and whose importance grew with the one of telecommunication technologies.

Globalisation and ecological issues are essential themes of this form of art.

In the second part of the book, 25 artworks or projects relate 23 years of Stéphan BARRON's art process.

42 colour photographs and 17 black and white pictures illustrate this text.

Earth Art uses planet Earth as the raw material for emotional and introspective expression, it uses telecommunication technologies to make distance and geographical space sensible. This art form explores emotions and imagination of distance and deals with a reflexion on globalisation, and its human and ecological consequences. A dimension of Stéphan BARRON's adventure is to wake us up to a broader conscience of our planet. Edgar Morin
